Join us for an engaging Collective Action Event focused on bringing life and technology into harmony for boys and families, featuring a panel with Sarah Kimmel, a family tech expert and digital parenting coach, and Susan McBarnet, Co-Founder and Chief Play Officer of Wild Child, who will share insights on intentional tech use, digital wellness, and the importance of play and real-world experiences. Following the discussion, guests can explore the Devices and Delights Fair, showcasing organizations including Family Tech, AngelSense, Bark, Troomi, Your Village Journey, Jight, One Sec, Unpluq, Pinwheel, Wild Child, Read. Play. Love., and The Balance Project—each offering tools and experiences designed to support well-being, creativity, and a more balanced relationship with technology.

We plan to attend and address the April 22 SPS Board with our petition for more intentional tech. While we’ll likely only get a few speaking spots, we welcome as many people as possible to come stand with us as we make our voices heard and call for transparency and intentionality. We have invited all BOE candidates to a community forum focused on our mission. Please share questions related to intentional technology use, phone-free schools, AI, or anything else that feels important to you regarding technology and our children. (see link below) Our intention for this forum is to collect and curate questions from our members and the general community around these important topics and provide each candidate with a space to respond. CCC Mission: 📵 Keep smartphones and social media out of childhood 🏫 Advocate for phone-free schools and intentional technology use 🌳 Foster a community culture that values independence, free play, and responsibility in the real world This forum aims to discuss our second objective. Some areas our community has expressed interest in include: * Following the NYS bell-to-bell phone law in our high school * Reducing overall student screen time and 1:1 device dependence * Increasing the use of physical learning resources such as books, workbooks, and hands-on materials * AI use and policies * Decreasing Educational Technology (EdTech) which is different than Technology Education (Tech Ed) * Your input will help guide the questions asked during the forum.
