We'll walk through our three pillars — intentional tech, free play, and cell phones — these are based on survey data from our kickoff meeting and where individuals wanted to focus attention. We will discuss the specific roles we're hoping to fill, talk honestly about what each one involves (and the time it takes), and answer your questions. Most of all, we'll plan our next steps together. You don't need any special expertise — just a willingness to own one piece and run with it. Join us for our next Balance Project gathering as we move from ideas to action. After a great kickoff in June, we're organizing around our three focus areas — as interest-based task forces — so everyone can plug in where they feel most drawn, and we'd love your help shaping them. This meeting, we'll introduce all three and let folks find their lane: 🛝 Free Play — creating more time and space for free, screen-free play in our kids' days, through play clubs, meet-ups, and everyday independence. 🏛️ Intentional Tech (Ed Tech & School Policy) — advocating for balanced, age-appropriate technology in Virginia schools. 📱 Cell Phones — helping families delay smartphones and wait together, like the Wait Until 8th pledge. Come explore all three, settle into the one that excites you, or simply listen and learn — there's no commitment required, and you're welcome to move between groups as you go. Newcomers are always welcome.
