Kids will design their own themed "collection" of accessories & garments and will showcase items in a fashion show finale! Projects include hand sewing and machine sewing (based on readiness).

Kid Pledge:

3. I understand I need to get permission to leave the area.
4. I agree to listen to the adults. They’ll only get involved when they need to, and then it’s my job to listen.

Creative Connection: Caregiver + Child Journaling Circle (Age 10+)

This event is for:

Please join us as we discuss The Amazing Generation — a follow-up to The Anxious Generation written for kids.
Part graphic novel and part guide, this book helps children and the adults who care for them navigate a screen-filled world.
This discussion will also be valuable for educators and children’s mental health professionals looking for resources to help guide students through technology and social media use.

BOE Meetings typically begin at 7:30pm but "Meet the BOE" conversation sessions occur before the meeting at 7pm with two members of the school board present to chat with. Typical meetings have two chances for members of the public to speak. Speaking is limited to three minutes.

Justin Reich is a Professor of Digital Media at MIT and the director of the Teaching Systems Lab. He is a longtime educator and host of the TeachLab podcast. His research focuses on how learning technologies shape teaching and learning in real classrooms and what actually happens when schools adopt new tools. He brings a thoughtful, historically grounded perspective to how generative AI is transforming education.

This book club for students age 9-12. It is free to attend but requires registering via the google form as spots are limited to 20.
Our hope is to find one or more sponsors to purchase a copy of the book for each child that registers, to keep. If that sponsorship does not happen, there are multiple copies available via multiple libraries to check out by using your Morton Public Library card.

On June 17th, we're celebrating the end of the school year with a Retro Recess Potluck Party! We'll teach kids all kinds of retro recess games, like SPUD, Rundown, TV Tag, and more. We'll provide pizza and ask everyone to bring a side or dessert to share.

Missed The High School Balance Challenge this winter? Want to find ways to bring balance into your life? This competition will give you the opportunity to learn how to block those distracting apps on your phone and participate in new activities in real life! Sign up now that you are interested and we will keep you updated about our plans for the FALL BALANCE CHALLENGE! Teens will be asked to form teams of five (ask your friends or classmates to participate with you). The dates are placeholders for now. More details will be finalized this summer!
