Curious to learn more? This event is for you. Join us in person at our September Kick-off meeting to find your people and help plan our priorities for 2026-2027.

With so much going on across the state and the country, there is no better time than now to advocate for district-level changes. We'll walk you through how to build your network and how to advocate for change right in your own community.
You don't have to be an expert to have an impact. Providing a supportive environment for parents, educators, and professionals to share their struggles and successes is what really matters. When parents realize they are not alone, they can create reasonable norms to adopt in their families, in their schools, and in their communities.

Most districts don’t have a clear, current, community-informed way to think through their own technology direction — decisions get made department by department, often without anyone connecting healthy defaults, social media practices, grade-band device rules, and AI policy into a single, coherent picture. A TAC doesn’t need formal authority to close that gap; it just needs a standing seat and a real line to the Superintendent.
We will talk about how to advocate for one in your district, the strategies you can use and the changes you can advocate for through the TAC. Let's do this!

About Dr. Carrie Mackensen: Dr. Carrie (@successful_parent) holds a PhD in Individual, Family, and Child Psychology and has over 25 years of experience studying child development and relationships. She believes that by understanding the science behind digital media and child development, parents can create a family environment where kids feel secure, regulated, and deeply connected.
Her forthcoming book, "Digitally Dysregulated: How Screens Hijack Kids' Brains and What Parents Can Do About It," will be published in September 2026.
About Schools Beyond Screens PVPUSD: We are a group of parents and community members advocating for evidence-based tech policies in PV schools.
