The UnPluggEd Project is a collaborative national initiative from Smartphone Free Childhood US and Distraction Free Schools Policy Project that encourages schools and families across the country to embrace and lean into human connections and away from the distractions of technology. We invite families, administrators, and educators to join for 1 to 5 days of leaning into human connections free of digital technology distractions. We invite you to join us at your comfort level!

▪ Lowkey (Mild): One day

▪ No Cap (Medium): Two to three days

▪ Touch Grass (Spicy): Full week

For EDUCATORS, an UnPluggEd day may include:

• Opting not to have students on laptops or tablets for the day

• Turning off the SMART Board and doing read-alouds and other analog activities instead

For FAMILIES, an UnPluggEd day may include:

• Putting smartphones in central storage unless absolutely needed

• Going for a walk or playing a game instead of watching TV or streaming

To support those who register to participate, we will provide:

• The UnPluggEd Playbook which will provide resources and ideas for how to unplug
