What's Happening

The policy was read for a First Reading, which means it has not been adopted yet. We still have an opportunity to make changes. 

The Croton-Harmon Board of Education sub-committee on Policy will convene Tuesday, August 19th, 2025 at 1:00 p.m.  The meeting will take place at the District Office (conference room), 10 Gerstein Street.  

Please write to the Gazette or any other local media outlets in support of following the state ban more appropriately, a true “bell to bell” ban. 
Including but not limited to: 
-phones are not kept off in students backpacks where they can be turned on and checked. They are off and stored in an inaccessible location like a locked pouch (Yondr) or device lockers, etc..
-Teachers cannot permit students to use their smartphones/iPads etc for academic tasks. Create consistency among classes and teachers. 
-personal devices are not used for assessments of any kind (cheating can and has occurred when this is allowed).
