Our Mission
Turning Life On local communities bring parents, educators, and professionals together to support kids growing up in a digital world. Our mission is to unite voices at the local level—sharing information, resources, and real-life strategies to help families make healthy, informed choices about technology use. We believe that when it comes to raising resilient, connected, and screen-smart kids, a coalition of caregivers is far more powerful than a single voice. Local TLO chapters are built by the community, for the community. Each group reflects the needs and values of its members. We host regular gatherings where parents can share experiences, ask questions, and support one another. We also collaborate with local educators, health professionals, and law enforcement to understand and respond to the unique tech challenges facing our kids and schools. Together, we aim to: Stay informed about the latest research and recommendations Empower families to set healthy tech boundaries Shift the culture around screen use—locally and collectively Because when we speak up together, we create real change.

Call on Rep Lori Trahan to reject preemption
Massachusetts families: we urgently need your help. Reports indicate that Representative Lori Trahan may be negotiating federal AI legislation that could prevent states from creating and enforcing their own child safety protections online. This would make it harder for states like Massachusetts to respond to emerging harms involving AI, including addictive algorithms, deepfakes, exploitation, self-harm content, and manipulative chatbot interactions. Parents have seen what happens when technology moves faster than protections for children. States must retain the right to act. Please take 3 quick actions today: Call Rep. Trahan’s office and ask her to oppose federal preemption of state AI laws. Send a letter or email. Sign the petition. Children’s safety must come before tech industry pressure.

According to Google for Education, districts are REQUIRED to obtain parental consent BEFORE these services are available to students. {Enter your district here} are in VIOLATION of this policy as required by federal laws that protect sensitive student data. Send a message to district leadership that parents are paying attention, and we care about our children's privacy.

Update: We are halfway there! Additional Services have been removed from CMS and elementary accounts but are still available to CCHS students. If your child is in HS, please take action to OPT OUT of Google's Additional Services, like YouTube. Districts are REQUIRED to obtain parental consent BEFORE these services are available to students. Concord Public Schools and Concord Carlisle Regional School District are in VIOLATION of this policy as required by federal laws that protect sensitive student data. Send a message to district leadership that parents are paying attention, and we care about our children's privacy.
