Why This Matters
As the alarm clocks reset and back-to-school season kicks into gear, there’s a distinct energy in the air. Fresh starts, new routines, and a crisp new season.
Fall runs for roughly 90 days. 13 weeks. About 1,350 waking hours between now and the holiday shift. It’s a vital window where habits take root, academic years are defined, and family rhythms get established.
We get it: the back-to-school hustle is real, and screens are an easy default when life gets busy. But wouldn't it be a TOTAL BUMMER to let this season fly by in a blur of endless scrolling?
That’s why, as school starts back up, The Tenafly Balance Project is calling on families to make this term count. Not by throwing away devices or going off-grid—but by building smart boundaries so we can actually show up for the moments that matter. From Friday night lights and family dinners to focused homework time and crisp weekend walks.
Let’s not start this school year on autopilot. This fall, let’s make it count. MORE PRESENCE. LESS DISTRACTION.
