The Four Norms Roadmap for Collective Action

These 4 aligned and vetted organizations each represent one norm and one action that you can take today. When we all do these collectively, we will flip the cultural norms from Technology first to Childhood first. There are great organizations that are already tackling each of them. It’s time to reclaim childhood in the real world. Your path Starts Here.

Delay Smartphone until at least High School

Pledge to wait until the end of 8th grade to give your child a smartphone with the Wait Until 8th Pledge (activates your school community as well).

Delay Social Media until at least 16

Join local groups of like-minded parents to connect, view family resources and discover ways to be more Tech Intentional by joining the SmartphoneFreeChildhood US community.

Phone-Free Schools

Tell your school you want to go phone free during the school day with the Phone Free Schools Movement pledge.

More Independence, Free Play, and Responsibility in the Real World

There’s something kids love more than phones: Free play and independence. Jonathan Haidt co-founded Let Grow to help schools and parents get kids back to playing, exploring, and doing things in the real world.
